Mine shows some serious oxidation, too, but, if I'd go with this, at all, I'd prefer, "saepe valere dixit illa antea nimis" (I guess, "saepe" is really a bit luxurious here, while I can see the need for expressing, even emphasizing the gender related aspect.)
