The big petrochemical companies have a distribution network already in place for gasoline. You can bet that they’ll be the ones pivoting to hydrogen when they have to. People don’t really want to change their behaviour so, I think, hydrogen will be the winner. However, economies of scale currently mean that it’s not economic but it will be at some point. It will cost money to do that which, I suspect, is why they’ve not yet promoted it.
