CrowView: A clamp-on, portable second laptop display
- DamonHD 3y agoThe review is quite positive (and I think sincere) so I pledged for one as I'm trying to improve my laptop use ergonomics... Obvs my secret evil motivation posting here is to get enough HN readers to pledge so that the whole thing actually happens! You are feeling very sleepy... B^>
- lproven 3y agoGlad you liked it! Yes, I was impressed by the gadget -- I wrote this story -- and I can see it being useful. A colleague of mine has the older Lenovo display I mentioned, and he told me he doesn't travel without it now, if that's any help.
- DamonHD 3y agoYep nice piece! (I need to get back to writing for elReg sometime...) I used to work in the City with as many screens as I wanted (though probably never more than 4), then switched to working on a 13" laptop for many years. I recently lashed out on a second-hand monitor portrait on my tiny home desk, and this thing may fill me out to a similar number of usable visible pixels as in my mis-spent youth!
- lproven 3y agoOh, you are that D-HD! I think we've exchanged emails in the past. :-) I like lots of screens, and in $JOB-1 I was able to have 3 fairly big LCDs that were cast-offs in the office: one landscape in the centre, flanked by 2 portrait screens. That worked very well for me, without too much eye or neck strain. I've yet to find a laptop with such flexibility, though. It's one of several places where desktops still have the edge.
