I had a boss who wanted to learn how to decrypt another apps' data on a phone in order to access sensitive information. I told him it wouldn't work, since that defeats the purpose of encrypting that data if we don't own that app. What did he do? Installed Android Studio on an i3 laptop and tried to use the emulator with some random tutorial from some MITM app that claimed it could do the job. Then linked me some other tools that explicitly said they couldn't do this outside of device emulation or rooting the device.
