Which one you're talking about?
- Kaibeezy 3y agoI was wondering the same thing. One of these, right? The Most Famous Photos in the World and the Cameras that Captured them! https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37385175 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37385175
- corinroyal 3y agoYes, the Afghan girl by Steve McCurry.
- corinroyal 3y agoI meant Steve McCurry's portrait of the Afghan girl: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghan_Girl https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghan_Girl
- maratc 3y agoThe Afghan Girl was shot with Nikkor 105mm Ai-S f/2.5 Gauss design, not with 10.5 Sonar. I know it only because by some chance I own one :)
- corinroyal 3y agoWow! Good catch. I've heard that lens is fantastic for separating the subject from the background and flattening the view--turning a person into a poster. And they say it has velvety, lush out-of-focus areas. How are you liking it?
- maratc 3y agoAll correct, I like it very much although rarely use it, and needless to say mine is not likely to produce any famous images :)
