It's not going to die any time soon, but it's also one of these languages that hasn't as many job opportunities (especially outside of major tech hubs) as other stacks. The amount of frontend JS developers is many times larger than the amount of Ruby on Rails developers so the fact that there is less "stability" is hardly surprising.
