- cylinder714 3y agoFairfield, just to the west of Travis AFB and the property in question, is my hometown, so I'm familiar with the area. Summers there are hot, and the wind is strong and constant, which is why it's a fine location for airports and wind turbines. How people there are going to tolerate the heat and wind, plus the constant air traffic from the base, is a good question. I expect that if this plan succeeds, there will eventually be pressure to close Travis entirely.
- xgl5k 3y agoSan Jose has an Airport in the middle of the city. But weather is much better in San Jose.
