> an Apple representative told BBC News: "Strict regulation mandating just one type of connector stifles innovation rather than encouraging it, which in turn will harm consumers in Europe and around the world."
It's 2023 and the Apple Lightning connector has a max transfer speed of 480 Mbps, the same speed as USB 2.0 which was released in the year 2000.
Meanwhile USB 3.2 has a transfer speed of 20,000 Mbps.
Clearly Apples argument about it stifling innovation was a cover for it's vendor lock-in strategy that the EU regulators seen right through.
