I keep buying cheap mechanical (wind up) watches and Swatches off eBay. My current Swatch has been telling time consistently for about a year on the same battery. The problem with cheap mechanical watches is you can over-wind them if you're not careful. I keep killing them every couple of years. But hey, they're cheap. The cool thing about both these watches is you don't have to recharge them every day (though you do have to wind up the wind-up watch.)
