Scientists develop finger sweat test to detect antipsychotic drugs in patients
- ggm 3y agoI think a non-invasive method of testing compliance in a treatment regime is one of those least-worst things: It would be better not to have to but I can think of a raft of circumstances where it's worth doing. The ability to do a rapid diagnostic for "has taken drug <x>" could be beneficial for other things, if the tests can work. Liver damage lies in overdosing on many over the counter meds. My dad had us wait about 4h many years (decades) ago while he sat around in a hospital because he couldn't remember if he'd taken his blood pressure meds, and they were line and ball for him conking out behind the wheel: he was the only driver in the family as we came home from a holiday. Thats a situation I bet my mother would have loved to avoid (car, kids, anxiety about her partner)
