From my experience, e-scooters are much more annoying and dangerous than e-bikes. Mostly because e-scooters are anecdotally more likely to be used on the sidewalk, and by more reckless drivers. I am not entirely sure why that is, but I think it's a combination of the smaller frame and the ease of hopping onto them by simply stepping up that makes them feel more like "enhanced walking" (with an illusion of control) than an actual vehicle.
