Awhile ago, our support group leader discussed with us the benefits of essential oils and aromatherapy. She inspired me to purchase an essential oil diffuser, and so I picked one up, along with a small collection of oils from the Farmers Market nearby.
Lately, I've been switching between pine needle and eucalyptus, only because I don't really have to clean out the reservoir between runs. I also have jasmine and "peaceful sleep" scents. Now, as soon as I loaded the jasmine, I felt regret, because it immediately smelled like a brothel or something. Not a "guy scent". It was also nearly impossible to remove the permeating scent from the plastic reservoir. The "peaceful sleep" scent is a melange of a few oils, and it smells rather orangey, and not entirely pleasant.
But I do enjoy the mood set by the pine or eucalyptus; just a gentle pleasant background of something nice, like I remember from Christmas Past, or soothing my throat. In fact, once the diffuser gets going, I hardly smell it at all. I like to run it while I work. Currently, it's in the living room and not the bedroom, so I'm awake during runs.
