Manufacturing MRP. Every other manufacturing company has their own way of doing things and none of the MRP solutions on the market are flexible enough to work for these companies.
- applied_heat 3y agoGoogling MRP it is material requirements planning? Can you give some examples of existing big players and their shortcomings.
- lylejantzi3rd 3y agoYes, that's the one. I'm not going to go through all of the players, but take a look at Katana MRP. They have a very rigid way of defining what an order is, what a product is, etc. Very specifically, they only allow one layer of subassembly, whereas at least two manufacturers I know have at least 2 levels of subassemblies. They expect their users to adhere to their process, not the other way around.
- richk449 3y agoAnything revolutionary you are aware of? Knowing that we will need one soon, and dreading the usual options, I’m ready for a revolution.
- lylejantzi3rd 3y agoNothing that I'm aware of, no. The reason this is on my radar is I'm working part time for a manufacturing company for which the existing MRP solutions don't work. Do you mind if I bend your ear about what your needs are? If so, send me an email. It's in my profile.
