Detect Fair Queuing on an internet connection
Using the server and client scripts, one can check whether there's fair queuing at the bottleneck of a connection.
To my knowledge, this is the first measurement that can check for fair queuing.

It could answer the question "am i being throttled" but then haw do we work out where? combine this with traceroute logic and hit the intermediate routers? I kinda suspect TCP/UDP streams may give different results too, especially across the wilderness of ISPs between real people.
- muxamilian 3y agoSome context: I know that my bottleneck link is my cable modem. Couldn't find documentation on whether it has fair queuing (like fq_codel). So I wrote this measurement tool. It's not about net neutrality if you understood it that way.
