The regression of rights that LGBTQ folks are experiencing in America is very worrying. I think a lot of it has to do with the weaponization of the topic that the Republicans have crafted over the years in order to get votes... as they really don't have any real alternative platform to run on. They've become silent on climate change, how could they not, it's so evident. What else do they have? Anti China rethoric? Not a strong enough threat yet. Using fear and hatred to get votes is bad for everyone. We shouldn't be solving our problems through hatred but comprehension, when regular conservative folks are actually exposed to LGBTQ people they become much more accepting. How could they not? Compassion is part of our nature. What they Republicans are doing is constructing a demonic figure to hate, it's as the blog says, the same as the Nazis were doing. Anyway, sorry it is this way for Americans. It's important for people in the rest of the world to learn how to deal with this threat so we don't fall victim for these tactics. Though personally I think a lot of it is more of a consequence of the political system we have than anything else.
