This is such a low-effort article; I tried to steel-man the argument but the analogy between ISP service and model weights are too different. To me, model weights are closest to software licenses, and applying the arguments towards abolishing of software licensing (MIT/BSD/GPL) is absurd to me. My response to an article titled "Open source authors should not police uses, no matter how awful they are" would be if you don't like the licensing terms, don't use it; if you're sufficiently motivated, author one of your own with licensing terms of your choice.
