Show HN: I Made a Robot Arm Livestream Using WebRTC
- mbhandz 3y agoGo to robocharm.io and select CyberClaw. Click Join Queue and wait for your turn. When it's your turn, you will see a real-time video feed of the robot and the controls will appear. Everyone gets approx 2 minutes. Press and hold the buttons to make the joints move. Only the person controlling the robot sees the real-time WebRTC feed. Everyone else sees a youtube iframe embed. Be gentle and have fun!

- Sean-Der 3y agoVery cool! Can you share anything about the implementation? What was the hardest part about it.
- mbhandz 3y agoSean-Der! I used your pion library :) I started this project to learn go and using pion made the webrtc part a breeze. The most challenging part was getting the robot into a reasonable state. Dealing with mechanical backlash, failing motor drivers, and finicky servos was the most annoying part.
- Sean-Der 3y agoI can’t imagine having to debug that. How do you assert that hardware behaved as you expected? Do you post this on LinkedIn/Twitter at all? I would love to share it.
