News can spread fast on social media so this might be a willful attempt at limiting the reach of negative news as it can sway elections.
Media outlets, social networks nor users benefit from this bill. The only beneficiaries seem to be corrupt politicians.
- paxys 3y agoLarge media outlets (Rogers, Bell) are the ones who lobbied for this bill. And they do benefit from it, because smaller, independent outlets are the ones that get the most exposure from social media.
