Canadas current administration trying to virtue signal on a bill that won’t pass?
It’s a strange math that someone there thinks an image of appearing to fight big horrible tech bullies is a better campaign strategy than actually fighting big horrible Arctic bullies.
- post-it 3y agoThe bill is already law. I don't think it's virtue signaling, I think it's trying to funnel money into the pockets of Bell/Corus/Thomson Reuters/etc.
- deepspace 3y agoThe bill passed. Meta has already stopped allowing links to news on Facebook. This is just an announcement of the fee the government will be charging companies like Google and Meta for linking.
