  If you join NASA you can become the "Planetary Protection Officer", which would be the first time I'd actually enjoy handing out business cards to people. (The job is much more mundane than the title sounds.)

    There's also the International Earth Rotation Service, but they're depending on inertia to get their job done. (Their actual job is to coordinate very precise measurements of the earth's rotation to determine how its rotation is shifting relative to atomic time).
