BTW, I suspect there is a new (to me) type of scum in US. Nonames are trying to 'collect' debts pretending to have some rights. They get fresh info on possible targets on black market.
- gmerc 3y agoDefinitely not new.
- H8crilA 3y agoAnd it even works against corporations, sometimes.
- rambambram 3y ago> trying to 'collect' debts pretending to have some rights How? By sending letters? By coming to your door?
- indymike 3y agoBy tricking people into affirming a paid off, non-existent or expired debt and then attempting to collect it.
- two_in_one 3y agoGoing to court, probably, if it's enforceable. Otherwise only online/offline harassment.
- red-iron-pine 3y agothey don't need to get them off the black market; banks, credit card companies, etc. will sell the debt and info to debt collectors, openly. no need to fire up tor, you can buy this info for reasonably cheap. presumably someone hacked it and tossed it on Dread or something?
