This is kind of interesting to me, not so much for the content, but for the concept of a "historical [collection] of [influential] blog posts." There's a lot of important or influential works over the past couple of decades that were born online in blog or social media form, and it would probably make sense to compile them into historical archives, since those websites will die. The Internet Archive is nice, but it doesn't really scratch that itch, because it's so hard to search and browse. Also I'm afraid it's picked fights that it can't win, so it might not survive itself either (and it's far too large to mirror).
