Even better “Online interactions are not rated by the ESRB” is boiler plate text on every game in the USA.
I’m fine with a moderation option, but there should be an option to have unmoderated chat. Are we not adults playing an M rated game where the goal
is killing each other? If you can’t handle what someone says either mute them, turn on AI moderation (a nice new option) or don’t join voice chat.
- viraptor 3y agoor don't join a game where it's likely you're going to run into abusive players, then tell your friends to play something else instead that isn't as toxic... which is the option the publisher is likely not super excited about and where the moderation for the players comes from. People who want to be abusive to each other during the game can always use private chat just for them.
- anakaine 3y agoSome of these games I'd like to play, but I've no desire to because of player toxicity. I am a newb, my mother is a target. I make a mistake, my sister gobbles male chickens. I'm not in the right place, I'm suddenly a man who likes a man. I dont play much, but I'm in the most profitable demographic. Maybe the reaction shouldn't be "don't play the game if you expect to find a bunch of vile people there", and instead it should be a "public lobbies are moderated. Vile and septic community behaviour will result in bans. Private lobbies can be created, and in those cases voice chat will be unmoderated."
