I've often thought that overnight charging at hotels would be simpler without that. Just a simple keycard to open, similar to other hotel amenities and a fixed cost to use it would be sufficient. At an RV park, maybe charge a small premium if that is even needed.

But then the hotels would have to manage & support it, with the extra apps and 3rd party management, it's somebody else's problem.
