this is actually plausible, though. GPT-4 finished training in August 2022 and was released March 2023. OpenAI took a lot of time to test/secure/fine-tune/whatever. if they're looking for a roughly yearly release cadence then they might have just about finished training.
- Bjorkbat 3y agoSo am I to believe some tech figure on Twitter with a large following who has an unnamed source? Or Sam Altman, who himself has said that no work whatsoever has been done nor will be done on GPT-5 in response to the rampant speculation this single tweet created?
