Mandatory attendance with hot-desking is complete BS (even if the hot-desking is just theoretical - like one friend who's workplace has them essentially have the same desks daily but name plates are verboten - wtf?) If the company demands you to show up more than 50%, and doesn't give you a permanent desk that's a huge middle finger IMHO.
