Tell HN: Siri “Open Spotify on the Apple TV” doesn't work anymore
Not sure if it's just me, but this morning asking Siri to "Open Spotify on the Apple TV" doesn't work, Siri replies "I found some web results if you ask again from your iPhone". Same with "Open Spotify on the TV".
I know Apple and Spotify dislike each other, but this is pretty ridiculous considering it worked fine yesterday. Even in 2023, I can't ask Siri to like a song or open a playlist due to their differences.
- accrual 3y agoRestarted the Apple TV and HomePods, no difference. IMO this reads like a Siri change on the backend since everything is already up-to-date, maybe the result of some kind of hidden fallout between Apple and Spotify. I get that Spotify directly competes with Apple Music, but for the sake of the consumers IMO they should suck it up and interoperate.
