Scrum was a (failed) attempt to get companies to think outside the box. For a variety of reasons, it doesn't really work and you can't fix bad management process with it. You can't save a company with scrum. What you might be able to do is study it as an open minded organization and pick out the best parts. And also make sure you have an appropriate engineering (non-functional requirements) process.
