- masklinn 3y agoThe same is true of most crops, almonds contain less than 5% water. The problem is that the water is still pumped out the acquifer, and non-acquifer water is still water which generally becomes unavailable to other uses because it evaporates or is too polluted.
- myshpa 3y agoAnd those pastures and alfalfa fields don't replenish aquifers, forests do.
