I have tried numerous ereaders over the past few years, and nothing has ever come close to Foliate. It strikes the perfect balance between functionality and minimalism, or to put it in more concrete terms - it's very good at getting out of the way of reading. It has a fully immersive mode and is very customizable. This Alexendria seems to be similar but is cross platform, so it will be worth giving a go.
