The Verge interviewed Alan Yeung (a former Foxconn executive who was in charge of the Wisconsin project).
Very interesting interview. If he's to be believed, Foxconn dropped the project because they didn't like that Evers won the election. Or, at least, that's what he implied.

- fatfingerd 3y agoLooks like just another great tax deal. Give me a few million and I'm not sure I'll temporarily hold real estate but I will hire a schmuck to count it.
- lapcat 3y ago> If he's to be believed He's not, and Nilay Patel repeatedly calls him on his BS during the interview.
- tb_technical 3y agoNilay jumps down his throat as soon as the conversation gets political. I wish the interview talked about specifics that caused the deal to fall through. Because the end result of a 5% tax break for a real estate pump and dump isn't all that profitable.
- lapcat 3y ago> Nilay jumps down his throat as soon as the conversation gets political. I would frame it as, Nilay jumps down his throat as soon as he tells an obvious, refutable lie. ;-)
