‘They would not listen to us’: inside Arizona’s troubled $53B chip plant
- networkchad 3y ago[dead]
- placesalt 3y agoThe plant doesn’t cost $53B, it’s being funded in part by the $53B Chips Act. Headline in The Grauniad is wrong.
- gumballindie 3y agoThe guardian is a misinformation rag much like the dailymail. Not surprised they’d exaggerate on this.
- atonse 3y agoThese articles leave you wanting some kind of substance. Instead of a bland he said, she said, is there a bit more reporting work they can do here? Hidden camera on the job site, better testimonials from more than spokesmen who really say meaningless bland things like “we are deeply committed” where I stopped reading. How about examples where things weren’t built to code? How about more details of why Union negotiations broke down? Or what the cost difference is?
- wildrhythms 3y agoThe other linked article from The American Prospect better details issues on the job site: https://prospect.org/labor/2023-06-22-tsmc-semiconductor-factory-phoenix-accidents/ https://prospect.org/labor/2023-06-22-tsmc-semiconductor-fac...
