Even if this "surgery" took place in California, and the "surgeon" was the UK, and 5G was involved, wouldn't it still via fiber? I feel like I'm missing something with these claims, are they saying they'll use 5g at the nodes, instead of some other wireless tech?
- blitzar 3y agoIn the UK they will happily claim it is "Fiber Optic internet" if there is a bit of glass somewhere in the connection, anywhere, including windows on the building.
- supertrope 3y agoYes. For anything this critical there’s probably multiple fiber connections and a backup on site surgeon. Telemedicine is still very limited. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/the-most-remote-emergency-room/2019/11/16/717d08e2-063e-11ea-b17d-8b867891d39d_story.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/the-most-remote-emer...
