If I caused even three people to become deaf through gross negligence, I'd expect to see jailtime.
Lost profit isn't a punishment to the execs that OK'd this shit, they still have jobs; very lucrative jobs, even.
- sokoloff 3y agoIn the US, as long as you did it with a vehicle that you knew did not meet road safety standards and were sober at the time, I think you'd be in for a modest civil penalty (maybe even entirely covered by insurance) and no jail time.
- FredPret 3y agoLost profit punishes 3M. Those employees directly responsible for this should be punished as well.
