I appreciate the few remaining glimpses of diversity of thought in academia. While I may not always agree, it's valuable to have those who question assumptions. The existence of similar anomalies on Earth regarding intelligent life suggests the possibility of similar phenomena elsewhere, and dismissing such inquiries with "crackpot" accusations doesn't make sense to me.
