What's wrong with Autopilot? It's a very good analogy to autopilot in airplanes.

  I can't believe you're serious. How often does autopilot in airplanes speed up, veer off course, and crash into fire trucks and palm trees?

    Your typical, old school airplane autopilot will happily crash into a mountain, not unlike how basic cruise control will happily crash into a wall.

      Pilots are not allowed to use those autopilots (or newer ones) until they have received careful training in the nature of those systems.

        That's definitely not true for private pilots.

  The comparison to airplanes only makes any kind of sense at all if you require that drivers have training on par with a pilot.
