Is this valid reason to use RDBM like this?

  Why not? I don't think there are many graph databases that are set up to handle multiple petabytes of data, so RDBMs make a good storage layer at that scale

    Why would you need a table for each person or post? Those are rows.

      Each entity. Person would be a table, you and I would be rows, correct.
