Will ~3ish nm be the last real generation of EUV? We are rapidly approaching the actual wavelength (13.5 nm) and returns are diminishing greatly with pitch shrinking from 40 to 28 to 24 nm with 7/5/3.
- fred_is_fred 3y agoKnowing nothing at all about this space as a software person - isn't 5 to 3 more productive than 40 to 28? 40 -> 28 = 30% smaller 5 -> 3 = 40% smaller
- COGlory 3y ago5 and 3 nm are just names. There are no features in the semiconductors that are actually that size. The smallest features are the metal pitch (listed above) and gate pitch.
