Seems like the Super Tucano would be a good fit
- mcv 3y agoI think the Gripen would make a good standard for low-budget air forces. It's designed to be cheap and easy to operate with fairly simple logistics, while still being able to keep up with more expensive jet fighters.
- deeviant 3y agoThe Griphen can cost as much as a F-35, with F-16 performance. It takes decades for the maintenance cost to catch up to the sticker price when comparing it to something like a F-16. There is also relatively little Griphen stock out there, so you'd be buying them new if you want one. So I could also see how it would also not be a great fit for a country that basically can't afford more than 10 busted cold war relics.
