I remember claims that compilers are going to emit better machine code than humans when pipelined and speculative execution was first implemented in intel processors.
It turned out to not be true.
It is still not true as of today. Humans are still better at this, and still by humongous margin. LLMs are going to change that soon however.
- kaba0 3y agoLol at both of these claims. Humans are better at tiny hot loops. Not at all at anything larger than that. And call me back once LLMs successfully solve a Sudoku first, before they attempt at spewing out code.
