Isn't this already what's done in many cases when artists take on donations via Patreon? Or selling wares on Etsy? Maybe it's not even bad that creating a corporation to manage art doesn't require a B&M gallery or all of the work that goes into maintaining a physical location. Maybe it's better if the funding goes more directly to the artist than a publisher.
