These biologists seem impossibly naive. By putting this kind of information in the public domain, they are putting these creatures at risk of being commercially exploited in various ways. At the very least, the precise locations should not be divulged.
- deanCommie 3y agoI actually think you're completely right. The sea is too big, and existing international fisheries laws, not to mention simple national border laws have been unable to prevent massively irresponsible over-exploitation (to the point of extinction) of the creatures of the ocean. It happened with Soviet Whaling fleets. It's happening with Chinese fishery fleets.
