We were taught how to write cheques when I was around 12-13 at school. It's not rocket science. Many years later in the mid-1990s my step-son who was an Economics(!) undergraduate at University asked me to give him a cheque for some sort of tuition fee. I gave him the cheque-book, and said "You fill it out and I will sign it." "I don't know how to write a cheque." he said. That really floored me. Mind you, the last cheques I have written were in France on my French LCL bank account back in 2016 while travelling in France. The last cheque I wrote at home in Australia was a few years before that, in 2014.
