I think the OS X version is a bit confusing, to be honest. There are too many elements sliding around and resizing. The problem it aims to fix is also still partially unsolved when the screen is dragged 'too far' (http://i.imgur.com/Q4Ktw.png http://i.imgur.com/Q4Ktw.png). The Windows version isn't confusing at all though (in its current implementation). I think this would be a really nice feature on Windows.
