Shouldn't be surprising or news to anyone who has looked directly into an access.log, all servers are constantly being probed by bots, crawled by spiders, etc.
The incapsula "article" is some combination of marketing and FUD, even though the title is true.
Using a second form of analytics never hurts.
If you have a webserver, run analog on your own log files.
Understand that GA only counts accesses when a client accessing your server also executes the javascript code on your site and successfully accesses their site.
Note that many hosting sites do not give you access to error logs, or only provide a web interface to show some of the most recent error messages.
A better title is probably
"Google Analytics doesn’t show you 51% of website noise"
