There's no conceivable way LibreOffice's character set-handling code is OS-dependent.
And if it somehow were related, that would be an even stronger indicator of immaturity and poor code quality than its half-baked support of an older character set.
Nevertheless, here it is on Windows 11. I also zoomed in and changed the font, and you can clearly see that LibreOffice just doesn't know what to do with angle quotes in CP708.

- lproven 3y agoOK. You didn't answer my question, though: have you tested it on non-Windows OSes, and have you filed a bug report?

- lproven 3y agoNo reply, so I am going to assume that the answers are "no". If something matters to you and you need it to work, then make sure that the developers know that. Communicate it. That is how FOSS works. If you don't, you lose your rights to bitch about it. That's also how this stuff works.
- ladyanita22 3y agoYou're extremely rude. Nonetheless, upload the file and I'll try on Linux.
- lproven 3y ago(?) I don't think it's rude to point out facts. YMMV. I have no bug to report, no axe to grind, and no file to upload anywhere. I can read Roman, Cyrillic (very poorly), Greek (rudimentarily and unreliably), and a literal handful of Kanji/Chinese. I can't read Arabic or any Semitic script, and I am not able to judge any problems with its rendering. If you want to investigate this apparent issue, then great! But it's not me reporting it, not my file, and it does not affect me. You will need to talk to @torstenvl about that. Since this was about 2 weeks ago now I doubt he will notice these replies.
