I don't mind them doing stuff like this, hardware-backed disk encryption shouldn't take the massive amounts of time/effort that designing, building and maintaining a desktop environment or display server will. I guess they need to say something other than "we're the systemd/dpkg/GNOME distro that everyone's familiar with".
