I've been meaning to learn more about this for a while, but haven't made time for it because I had assumed it would be more complicated than this. It's surprisingly accessible. As a haskell person, the implementation here brings to mind a free monad (https://serokell.io/blog/introduction-to-free-monads https://serokell.io/blog/introduction-to-free-monads) with a fairly trivial interpreter.
