  I looked at the names of the available ISLISP implementations; none of them appear in the list of popular, commonly used LISP implementations. I have to wonder where (and if!) any implementation of ISLISP is actually being used in practice.

Racket's got lots of interesting features; but it seems to be focused on teaching and programming language experimentation. Does anyone use Racket in production? (Genuinely curious.)

Thank you for introducing Easy-ISLisp. I'm the author, Sasagawa. Racket is incredibly excellent. I used it back in the days of MZ-Scheme. I believe it's an extremely capable implementation. There are many other outstanding Lisp implementations as well. Easy-ISLisp is remarkably simple. If you look at the source code, you'll quickly understand its mechanics. During the early days of personal computers, I had a lot of fun analyzing, modifying, and extending Basic interpreter. I express that kind of playful spirit as friendliness. Modern implementations are highly polished, making it difficult to perform internal analysis for simple tasks. So, please enjoy Easy-ISLisp with a mindset similar to modifying vacuum tube amplifiers.
