Ukrainians Are Cutting Open U.S. Cluster Shells to Make Drone Munitions
- hsjqllzlfkf 3y agoInteresting. Sounds like we should be sending them drone munitions then. I mean, is it interesting? I'm sure it's a daily fact of war that conditions are never optimal and you try and adapt. I'm also sure there's a feedback loop somewhere with Ukrainians telling the west how much of which things theyd rather have. So sure, let's send them more drone munitions, but why is this on HN? Oh right, because someone thought it was interesting.
- reacharavindh 3y agoIt would be interesting if US or any other country supplied a crap load of such drone ammunitions to Ukraine, while publicly arguing and dragging feet about the commonly known supplies like F-16s... A well cordinated such move might just overwhelm the defenses that Russia might have put up at this stage. If we anticpate Russsians have anti-drone protections that cost $50 per piece and are prepared for 1 million of them, could we send 2 million of them at once? or spread them out geographically at the same time? I'm sure my arm chair thoughts are too naive than the folks on the ground and people whose job it is to think about this, but it sure is interesting - new age of war.
